I picked up an old EOS3 from eBay I’ve been playing around with film recently I was eager to use my samyang 14mm on it some of the shots are below, in low light the Kodak Portra 400 seemed to get quite grainy.
I bought myself two SLRs from ebay this week a Cannon EOS 3 and the Nikon F75 or N75 depending on what part of the world your from. The photos below are using the Nikon with Kodak Ultra Max 400, It’s been around 10 years since I last used film I think i’m going to start using it a lot more often.
I love the saturated colours with no processing.
I set out on a ride this morning out too Burnsall and back visibility was really poor today, I took my camera out with me, didn’t get many decent shots but at times I loved the way the light fell through the tree’s
I cycled out to Clay or the Cote D’Clay as it was called with my father today to watch the Tour De France, We were not far from the summit where the cyclist could gain additional points for the King of the Mountains competition. I have previously seen Mountain stages in the Pyrenees and French Alps the atmosphere was Better today in Yorkshire and I’m not just saying that I was there for 3 hours and Enjoyed every minute!

As we arrived at the foot of the Cote D’Cray large amounts of fans were already gathering and enthusiastically cheering every cyclist up the accent. In my mind the cheering fans led me to believe I was in fact Marco Pantani setting the record for the fastest accent of Alpe d’Huez!
Once we had taken our spot we watched and cheered as other cyclist ascended the route, as a general rule the crowd would not let anyone get off their bikes and run behind and push them up to the summit. I was great seeing the different people climb the route.
After the promotional vehicles had passed there was a lull in activity and some people took the opportunity to cycle to the summit, the crowd whipped up by the caravan got into it even more cheering them on and running along side it was great to watch.
Then another Lull and the crowd started doing Mexican waves there really was an air of euphoria in the crowd at this point people knew it wasn’t too long now until the cyclist would be passing.
Then the Helicopters started passing over head.
After the Helicopters had passed the Tension built and built until people knew they where minutes away I love these shots;
Then Suddenly and almost with the same speed and vigor of my accent the cyclists emerged.
Time for a quick toilet stop before trying to get back down.
Getting of Cote d’Cray was no easy task all the cyclists myself included in one go trying to get off caused total grid lock, once at the bottom of the hill though the traffic was free moving and the next 15 miles was one of the best rides I’ve ever been part off!
I went on a trip to Scarborough this Saturday and didn’t realise it was armed forces day a Vulcan bomber did a series of maneuvers just of the coast line I don’t know why but I found the on-looker’s as fascinating as the actual plane which was also amazing. It let out a chilling kind of howl as it passed over head the noise was very hard to describe.
I f for any reason you may like to re-use my images get in contact, please do not re-use any of my images without my express permission.
Apparently this last Vulcan has only two more flights left before it becomes de-commisioned.
Over the last week or so I have been walking around central Leeds without any direction just taking photos of people and general stuff I have collected some of the photos I have taken for this post.
One thing I have only just started to do is ask people if I can take their photo I find it kind of hard and embarrassing at first, I think it’s something I will get better at and after asking a few people you realise it’s not as daunting as you first thought.
As well as asking people if I could take their photo I took a lot on the fly while people didn’t realise i was there.
Miscelanious;
I wrapped my camera in a plastic bag this morning and took photographs of people in the rain as I walked to work through the centre of Leeds, I used a Canon 550D with a 50mm f1.4 stopped down to 1.4 with a circular polarizing filter I didn’t use the filter by choice it just gave my lens extra protection from the rain, below are some of the photos I took.
I didn’t process the following photos as heavily as the first four.
This is the first post of my new photography blog, for some time I have been interested in Rabbit show jumping so when the opportunity to go see a demonstration in London cropped up I jumped at the chance! Below are photos of the display by the Swedish show jumping rabbit team the Bouncing Bunnies performed on May 17th at Earls Court in London, Images are not permitted for re-use without my express permission.
I personally didn’t dare use my flash but there were a lot of people using their own and the rabbits didn’t seem at all phased by this as you can see in the image above.
It’s surprisingly hard to find any information about the “Swedish bouncing bunnies” on the internet other than news articles I’m not aware of an official website.
